‘Refracting Ships’
Inspiration for my collection came from the relationship between oil and water, how the light refracts from an oil spill and Derelict shipwrecks on shore. Extensive research lead to a core of fascinating weatherproof fabrics all sourced from sailing and performance suppliers. Blue prints and marine structure inspired the subtle pattern cutting for secretly complex garment construction. A colour story of Blues, Greens and ripples of Lemon exposes and accentuates my theme, Down to every detail this collection stays true to its research. I design for the modern woman who lives in an active society,forever seeking practical beauty.
